Welcome to my portfolio. My name is Julio C. Chavez, and I live in Vancouver B.C.
My interest for photography starter when I was a kid. During Sunday sunsets, I used to sit at the edge of my house roof top. A moment so peaceful I just relaxed, and watched the clouds change shapes, and colour. I wanted to capture the moment so bad, and started to wish I had a camera. My allowance at the time was just enough for some candy, and there was not much I could do.
When I turned 17 I was able to get my first point and click camera. I was disappointed that the images I took did not capture the feeling, nor look as nice as the image I wanted to capture.
A few times my dad taught me small pointers when using his maniacal SLR Canon camera. Still for me was near impossible to get a good camera.
The digital age for photography arrived, and I was able to buy another point and shoot. Still there was something missing. Then in 2005 I finally got my hands on a digital SLR Canon, so I started to get into practice right away. I've been improving since then by taking classes, reading books, and motivating my self by checking many photography sites. Now I have found it easier to capture the moment as I visualize it. About 5 years go I opened this website to share my pictures, which I have also been editing and improving. I hope you enjoy!

April 26, 2012 - The warmer days are here, and so the time to take more pictures. The site has been expanding a lot. In part because I had a lot of issues with the navigation provided by GoDaddy. So I had to make my own, which look much better. As you have noticed there is a NEW tag for the most current galleries. One of them is the Auto. A set of pics I had taken in the past, but never published. Well, most of them. The last gallery I have added is from cosplayers at the first Fan Expo Convention here in Vancouver.
December 13, 2011 - I guess I've been updating once per month. Which is pretty good!
Well, I just returned from a 6000km road trip, and got more images to add to this place. The places include Vegas, San Francisco, Hollywood, Antelope Canyon, and some places in the wild in Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. I don't know what I'll do for January, but on the mean time, I'll do some minor adjustments to this site.
November 1, 2011 - Big update with the Halloween Pictures. This time it felt it wasn't as crazy as previous years, but I was surprised to find out I got enough for two galleries. Please click in the Facebook icon to share with friends. Enjoy!!
October 25, 2011 - Almost 6 months without my page, and now I am finally back online. Well, since then I haven't I haven't done much. I got a 3D camera. When I shoot I takes both 3D, and 2D. The 2D picture do not have a good quality, and I spent a lot using this camera. Now I will carry both cameras, and shoot with boot, because I still love 3D still images, as well as 2D images. I guess i will turn full 3D once I find a software that allows me to edit this images, and that also can be published on it's original MPO format in the net.
So far I have added just a few new images, as well as the new cosplay section. The next big update will be after this Halloween. See you soon.
